Man wanted for murder arrested in Mayfield after police chase

MAYFIELD, Ky. (KBSI) – A Dyersburg, Tenn. man facing a first-degree murder charges was arrested in Mayfield, Ky.

On the morning of Monday, February 5, several law enforcement agencies responded to a home on Foster Street in Mayfield.

Law enforcement received information that Jeremiah Lamonte Davis, 19, of Dyersburg, Tenn., was at an address in that area.

Davis was wanted out of Dyersburg for first-degree murder.

As law enforcement surrounded the home, Davis broke out a window and tried to run away through neighboring yards. After a brief chase, Davis was apprehended by a canine from the United States Marshal’s Service.

Davis was arrested. After medical clearance, he was taken to the Graves County RC Center where he was later taken to an out of county jail facility.

Davis is awaiting extradition back to Dyer County, Tennessee where he faces a first-degree murder charge.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Mayfield Police Department, Kentucky State Police, McCracken County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshal’s Service and Mayfield/Graves County EMS.
