Breezy, warming days before storms possible
Winds will shift out of the south tonight, with breezy conditions expected on Sunday. Those winds will be what bring us from a cooler day Saturday to a warmer day Sunday.
We’ll continue to warm with some very windy conditions into Tuesday, the warmest day of the next week. A strong cold front by then will drop temperatures closer to normal for the second half of the week.
We’ll be watching for some storms possible especially Tuesday night into Wednesday. For now, the Storm Prediction Center has highlighted most of the area during that timeframe for the potential of these thunderstorms.
For Tuesday night into early Wednesday, there’s a risk of severe weather with all severe modes possible at this point.
As the cold front continues, the severe threat moves mostly out of the area to the south and east after about 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Through this event, we’ll have some winds picking up just before and after that frontal passage. Gusts around 35-45 mph will be possible especially Tuesday and Tuesday night.
Temperatures will be left to seasonable norms through the end of the work week. That means temperatures from the 70s will fall to the 50s from about Wednesday on.
