Cape Girardeau County History Center showcasing art from Hatch Show Print
JACKSON, Mo. (KBSI) – The Cape Girardeau County History Center is showcasing art from a renowned print shop in Nashville.
Hatch Show Print has been in Nashville since the 1870s and has a wide array of vintage type and hand-carved imagery. The prints commemorate America’s evolving cultural identity.
Visitors to the history center on Saturday were also treated to live music from Docs and Friends.
History center director Carla Jordan said it is a treat to have such iconic art on display at the center.
“If you’re into graphic design or graphic arts or music, it’s just a wonderful thing,” she said. “When you see a hatch print, after you’ve seen a hatch show, you know a hatch print. My favorite one back there, all it says is ‘Clean Restrooms,’ but it’s my favorite one because it’s great graphic design, great color.”
The exhibit is part of the February Annual Uptown Jackson Event, “Fit to Print.”
