Digital speed signs posted in Carbondale for speed study

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – The Carbondale Police Department posted digital speed signs in the 2400 block of South Illinois Avenue to conduct a speed study.
The signs will record traffic speed data. They will also provide a visual alert to drivers of their current speed, according to officers.
The speed limit on South Illinois Avenue is 40 miles per hour.
After the study is conducted, officers will conduct enforcement.
Carbondale police officers encourage drivers to obey the speed limits and be courteous to others in their travels.
