Carterville woman facing drug charge after call from neighbor
CARTERVILLE, Ill. (KBSI) – A Carterville woman faces drug charges after sheriff’s deputies were called by her neighbor.
Trissa A. McClintock faces charges of possession of controlled substance and disorderly conduct.
Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for service in the 3400 block of Herrin Road in Carterville on February 29 at 3:01 a.m. in reference to a neighbor dispute.
Deputies spoke with the homeowner who said her neighbor, Trissa A. McClintock, had been in and out of her yard several times throughout the night, yelling, and “banging” on things.
Deputies are familiar with McClintock through prior calls for service. They had responded to that home about 40 minutes before for a trespassing complaint.
McClintock was verbally trespassed from the neighbors property at that time, according to Williamson County sheriff’s deputies.
The homeowner said she was asleep when McClintock came on to her property the first time and began yelling causing her wake up.
The homeowner also told deputies that McClintock eventually left her property returning to her home before deputies arrived.
Deputies went to McClintock’s home to speak with her and saw the lights inside the home were on. As deputies pulled their patrol vehicle into the driveway they saw the lights inside the home shut off.
Deputies approached the home and could hear someone moving around inside. Deputies explained the reason for their presence.
McClintock said she just woke up and had not been outside of her home for the past few hours.
She was told she was under arrest, handcuffed and taken to a patrol vehicle.
McClintock was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
Deputies found a clear plastic bag inside her purse that contained a white crystal like substance. It later field tested positive for cocaine.
