Carbondale police release safety plan for Solar Eclipse

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI)- As we eagerly anticipate the upcoming solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024, the Carbondale Police Department would like to remind everyone to prioritize safety during this exciting celestial phenomenon.

Large crowds of people are expected to gather in Carbondale and the surrounding region to witness this rare event.

It is essential that everyone takes proactive measures to ensure a safe and memorable experience for everyone.

Carbondale Police Chief and Interim City Manager Stan Reno said, “We welcome everyone to the City of Carbondale and we want the eclipse to be a wonderful experience for all. Following the recommended safety tips will help ensure a memorable and safe experience for our residents and visitors.”
