Jackson man arrested, accused of threatening to kill victim, burn house down

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – A Jackson man faces charges after police say he treatened to kill a person and burn a house down.
Bradley Moreland, 41, of Jackson faces charges of domestic assault – 3rd degree and harassment – 1st degree.
On April 30, police responded for a wellbeing check on Moreland. He is accused of telling a person, “I am going to kill you, I am going to burn the house down,” according to the probable cause statement.
The person told police he/she would not allow Bradley back until he sought treatment, to which Bradley said “he would definitely not get help.” When the person tried to get into a vehicle, Bradley is accused of approaching the vehicle and striking the passenger side window with his fist. The witness told police that Bradley said, “He is going to kill me. Or hurt me.”
He is accused of punching someone in the arm on April 27 and striking a person on April 29. He is also accused of throwing a chair and damaging property.
Police say Bradley was found “inside experiencing an apparent overdose and was transported to a hospital for treatment.”
He has several convictions of assault – 1st degree and armed criminal action in Cole County, Mo.
His bond was set at $25,000.
