MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Paducah man faces several charges after sheriff’s deputies say he was found with a stolen truck.

Justus White, 20, faces charges of speeding 26 mph or greater than speed limit, reckless driving, fleeing or evading police, 1st degree (motor vehicle), wanton endangerment-1st degree-police officer, criminal mischief, 1st degree, no operator’s-moped license, disregarding traffic control device-traffic light and receiving stolen property between $1,000 and $10,000.

A deputy with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office saw a 2001 GMC Sierra on the parking lot of Kroger (Park Avenue) at 3:43 p.m. on Sunday, June 9.

Deputies say the truck had previously been reported stolen to the Paducah Police Department.

When the deputy tried to stop the truck, deputies say the driver quickly began to drive out of the parking lot toward Park Avenue.

At this time, deputies say the truck nearly struck another deputy head-on as he was pulling on the parking lot to assist.

The driver drove the truck down Park Avenue and then onto H.C. Mathis Drive.

The driver made an eastbound turn onto N. 14th Street.

A deputy used a low-speed PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique) maneuver on the truck which stopped it from going any further.

White was identified as the driver of the truck. He was arrested and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

The Paducah Police Department, Lent’s Towing & Jason’s Collison Center assisted the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.
