Man arrested after police chase

CARLISLE COUNTY, KY (KBSI) — A man has been arrested after a car chase, and charged with fleeing or evading police.
Around 11:30 p.m. on June 15th, the Carlisle County Sheriff’s Office received a request for help from the Ballard County Sheriff’s Office regarding vehicle pursuit on Kentucky 286 eastbound. It involved a silver Dodge Charger with Illinois license plates.
The Ballard County Sheriff’s Office relayed the car was driving more than 100 miles per hour. As the chase entered the Gage community, the car turned around and headed back west on KY 286. Ballard County Sheriff’s office attempted to deploy spike strips in the road, but the car swerved and almost hit a nearby sergeant. Police say the tires did hit the spike sticks, and the car then became disabled.
Deputies then saw someone — later identified as Terrell Jones — exit the car and run away. Deputies from Ballad, Carlisle, and McCracken county canvased the area to search for Jones. It wasn’t until 4 a.m. that a drone was able to locate a heat signature in a cornfield nearby, and law enforcement managed to apprehend him.
Jones has been charged with speeding, fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, and numerous other traffic-related offenses.
