3 face drug charges after tip of counterfeit money in Graves County

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – Three people face drug charges in Graves County after the sheriff says deputies followed up on a tip of someone wanted for passing counterfeit money.
Graves County Sheriff Jon Hayden says deputies followed up on a tip Tuesday, July 30 concerning the whereabouts of 50-year-old Machelle D. Sanderson, who was wanted on outstanding warrants for passing counterfeit money at a Graves County business.
They went to a location on Cherry Drive east of Mayfield they were told she was located.
They also received additional information that illegal drug activity was occurring at that location.
Deputies could not get anyone to open the door of the home or at a large outbuilding. A search warrant was obtained and served at the location around 7:44 a.m.
Two men were found in the storage unit. A few minutes later, Sanderson was also found hidden in the storage unit/outbuilding.
Sheriff Hayden says a struggle ensued with Sanderson and the deputies before she was arrested.
They searched the wooden outbuilding and found a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun, numerous plastic baggies containing crystal methamphetamine, scales, marijuana, glass methamphetamine smoking pipes, pills and other items.
Machelle D. Sanderson, 50, of Mayfield faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of handgun by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest. She was also served a felony arrest warrant charging her with 1st degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.
David R. Davenport, 50, of Mayfield faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, hindering prosecution or apprehension, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Marc. P. Zacchini, 39, of Mayfield faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a 3rd degree controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
All the suspects were taken to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office and later to out of county detention centers.
