Two people face numerous charges after running from officers

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – Two people were arrested after an officer saw them walking in the middle of the roadway.
According to the Paducah Police Department officer Brooke Adams saw a man and woman walking in the middle of Center Street and got out to speak to them.
As Officer Adams was getting out of her vehicle, both individuals fled on foot.
Another officer, Pedro Loredo saw the female, Katherine Lapierre, hiding behind an air conditioning unit and she fled again before being caught in the 2300 block of Center Street. After giving numerous false names, officers were able to identify Lapierre and found she had numerous warrants for her arrest.
After searching Lapierre officers discovered a loaded .22 caliber pistol in her jacket pocket along with suspected methamphetamine in her purse. Officers also found that Lapierre is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Katherine R. Lapierre age 33 of Paducah, arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 2nd Offense (Methamphetamine), Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Fleeing or Evading Police, 3rd Degree, Obstructing Emergency Responder Violations, and Hitchhiking-Disregarding Traffic Regulation by Pedestrian and warrants from Butler and McCracken Counties.
Officers also located the second individual, Ned E. Conner hiding under a porch. Conner was not in compliance with the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry and also had warrants for his arrest.
Both were arrested and taken to the McCracken County Jail.
