Two SIU Carbondale international students’ visas revoked

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) — Two international students at Southern Illinois University Carbondale have had their visas revoked, according to the university.

FOX23 reached out to SIU Carbondale Director of Communications Kim Rendfeld. She provided the following statement:

Two students have informed us that their visas have been revoked. In respect for their privacy in this sensitive and difficult situation, we will keep other information confidential. We are devoting our resources and energies to supporting the roughly 850 international students at SIU Carbondale who hold F-1 visas, and we communicate directly with them on a regular basis. To help our students, faculty and staff navigate uncertainty, we have provided information about available resources on our Community of Care webpage, which is accessible from siu.edu.
