Music festival raises money for those affected by Delta tornado

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – A music festival aimed at raising money for those affected by the Delta tornado will take place in downtown Cape Girardeau.
Ebb and Flow Fermentations located in downtown Cape Girardeau will be the venue holding the music festival with 6 different bands playing, many of the talent is local. Doors will open at 3 pm on Friday August 21, 2025.
An ef-2 tornado went through Delta in early April, and the town is still recovering. To help those affected Semo Strong has partnered with multiple downtown businesses to raise money by hosting a music festival and some businesses are running specials dedicated to raising money.
Brandon Simmons is a Brewer at Ebb and Flow; he shares why this is something to be a part of.
“It’s a great way to support the community. You know, when any of us are impacted, it’s always awesome to see folks coming together for this sort of thing and this also gives, you know, exposure to some of these acts, too” says Simmons.
There will be a $12 dollar cover charge/donation required, minors are welcome but should be accompanied by an adult. Children aged 15 and younger get in free! Simmons says 100 percent of the cover/donation charge will go to Delta.
Dwight Miller is owner of Midnight Scout and the SEMO Strong event organizer. He says although he’s not a resident of delta or personally affected he still wanted to find a way to give back to those who are still struggling so all proceeds will go to the Baptist Church of Delta.
“Although I am organizing it, of course, it’s not possible without Ebb and Flow and because of Dwayne Spectrum’s getting involved. Golden Eagle they’re also getting involved as well. They’re going to have flash art tattoos the day of. It’s really just been a lot of people I see every week coming together and saying, hey, I’d like to be a part of that, too.”
Miller says Spectrum Record Lounge will also hold a karaoke night on Friday August 29 and will donate proceeds of that as well. Miller says this was completely a community effort.
“Im just connecting the dots. I’m just talking with people and networking, seeing who can provide what. But really, it’s been everybody coming forward and saying things like, ‘yes, I would love to provide this’. I would like to provide that service'” says Miller.
