KBSI FOX23 News at 9 p.m.
FARMINGTON, Mo. (KBSI) — A group of physicians, advanced practice providers and staff long serving the Farmington and St. Francois County community have officially joined Mercy, the health system announced.
Clinics now part of Mercy include Midwest Health Group, Midwest Orthopedic Group, Midwest Pain and Spine Center — including its primary care and chiropractic teams — Midwest Imaging Center, Convenient Care Farmington and Convenient Care Bonne Terre.
“Our focus has always been serving the Farmington community and providing patients the health care they need here without having to leave this community,” said Dr. Paul Moniz, a primary care physician formerly with Midwest Health Group. “That matches up perfectly with Mercy, which was founded on and continues to serve the goal of providing care where it’s needed.”
Effective Sept. 1, the following locations became Mercy clinics:
Mercy Clinic Primary Care – Farmington, 555 W. Pine St. (Dr. Paul Moniz, Dr. Guy Roberts and nurse practitioners Megan Bell, Zacharius Dane, Angelica Lappe and Fisher Wadlow)
Mercy Clinic Primary Care – Farmington, 618 Maple Valley Drive (Dr. James Moore)
Mercy Clinic Orthopedics – Farmington, 606 Maple Valley Drive (Dr. Scott Van Ness, nurse practitioner Tonya Herbst)
Mercy Clinic Spine and Pain Management – Farmington, 618 Maple Valley Drive (Dr. Stephen Orr, Dr. Tong Zhu)
Mercy Spine Care – Farmington, 618 Maple Valley Drive (Dr. Michael Fan, nurse practitioner Branda Irvine)
Mercy Imaging Services – Farmington, 604 Maple Valley Drive
Mercy Integrated Medicine and Therapy Services – Farmington, 618 Maple Valley Drive
Mercy Convenient Care – Farmington, 620 Maple Valley Drive (nurse practitioners Kaila Bridges, Jessica Cox, Sarah Darnell, Brandi House and Lacey Stogsdill)
Mercy Convenient Care – Bonne Terre, opening in 2026
Mercy will host a ribbon-cutting and blessing ceremony at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at 555 W. Pine St. The public is invited.
These facilities join six existing Mercy specialty clinics in Farmington, including cardiology, endocrinology, OB/GYN, oncology and hematology, neurology and neurosurgery.
Dan Eckenfels, Mercy Jefferson Communities president, said the expansion will allow for more coordinated care. “By teaming up with the Midwest group, we will be able to provide more coordinated care with a variety of specialists seeing patients in Farmington. That all starts with having a primary care team here who knows this community and understands the needs.”
Mercy also plans to install a new electronic health record system, Epic, providing patients with access to online scheduling, records, billing and the MyMercy app.
Mercy, one of the nation’s 15 largest health systems, operates across five states with more than 50 hospitals and 1,000 physician practice locations. In fiscal year 2024, the system provided nearly $500 million in free care and community benefits.
