PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — The Paducah Police Department Drug Unit has been honored as the 2025 Narcotic Unit Task Force of the Year by the Kentucky Narcotics Officers Association. The award was presented this week during the association’s annual convention.

In 2024, the unit investigated more than 160 narcotics cases, executed 37 search warrants, and seized more than 11,000 fentanyl pills, 30 grams of cocaine and 570 grams of methamphetamine, police said.

The unit also partnered with the DEA, FBI, Homeland Security and the U.S. Marshals Service on cases that extended beyond Kentucky and led to arrests of multiple high-level traffickers. Officials said the team’s work dismantled drug networks attempting to establish operations in western Kentucky.

“Their commitment and determination reflect the very best of our department, and we are proud of their tireless efforts to keep our community safe,” the department said in a statement.

A photo released by the department shows members of the 2024 Drug Unit — Assistant Chief Justin Hodges, Detective Corey Willenborg, Sergeant Matt Scheer, Sergeant Dylan Cook and Sergeant Beau Green. Also pictured is Whitney Hudson, who stood in place of her late husband, Sergeant Ryan Hudson.
