VIENNA, Ill., (KBSI) — Arrowleaf, a local health services organization, has been awarded a $1.2 million grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration to expand rural health care access across Southern Illinois.
The funding will support the Southern Illinois Rural Health Special Track Opportunity (SIRHSO) initiative, led by Arrowleaf. The organization is one of only 10 nationwide to receive the grant.
“Over the next four years, this award will create new jobs in our region,” Arrowleaf said in a statement. “This will bring life-saving services like preventative screenings, nutrition-focused care, and evidence-based models such as Food is Medicine to rural communities.”
Arrowleaf is currently hiring for a Programs Coordinator, Registered Dietitian, and Case Manager to support the initiative. Interested applicants can apply at Employment | Arrowleaf.org.
The organization serves communities in Alexander, Johnson, Massac, and Pulaski counties and partners with Massac Memorial Hospital, Rural Health Inc., Southern Seven Health Department, and the University of Illinois Extension.
