CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — Two people have been arrested following a drive-by shooting late Friday night in Caruthersville, according to the Caruthersville Police Department.

Police said the shooting occurred around 11:17 p.m. on Oct. 17 in the 900 block of Truman Boulevard. No fatalities were reported.

“Firing shots in our neighborhoods, where families live and children sleep, is completely unacceptable and will never be tolerated in this city,” said Police Chief Jerry Hudgens in a statement.

Hudgens said officers and investigators worked “quickly and relentlessly,” leading to two arrests within hours of the incident.

“If you choose to commit violent acts in Caruthersville, we will find you,” Hudgens said. “We will use every resource, follow every lead, and turn over every stone until you are held accountable.”

The police chief commended investigators and officers for their dedication, noting that many gave up their weekend to bring swift action in the case.

The investigation remains active, and charges are pending. No further information has been released to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
