CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) – Cape Girardeau Firefighters Local 1084 has issued unanimous votes of no confidence in City Manager Ken Haskin and Human Resources Director Gina Snyder, citing longstanding concerns about public safety, staffing, emergency readiness and labor practices.

Union officials said the votes were taken after years of internal discussions regarding the direction of the city’s fire and emergency services. Formal letters outlining the concerns were submitted to the Cape Girardeau City Council and have been made publicly available.

In a statement, Local 1084 said its members believe leadership decisions have affected both firefighter safety and the department’s ability to protect the public.

The union said it remains committed to working with city officials to address the issues and to improve trust, transparency and stability within city government.
