WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office has released a summary of recent jail and prison sentences for offenders convicted in Williamson County over the past several months, underscoring what officials describe as the county’s continued commitment to enforcing the law and pursuing accountability.
In a statement, Sheriff Jeff Diederich said the office remains focused on protecting residents, visitors and the community despite challenges posed by the Illinois Safe-T Act. While the legislation affects how offenders are processed immediately after arrest, Diederich said meaningful consequences are still delivered in court.
“We can’t control the laws passed in Springfield or administrative decisions that frustrate accountability,” Diederich said. “But we can control how we respond to crime — and we will continue making arrests every time a crime occurs.”
The sheriff highlighted the collaborative work of local law enforcement agencies and Williamson County State’s Attorney Ted Hampson’s office, noting that prosecutors continue to seek firm, fair sentencing.
The following cases, provided by the Williamson County State’s Attorney’s Office, represent a sample of offenders sentenced between July and November 2025. Sentences include jail time and Illinois Department of Corrections commitments for offenses such as burglary, drug possession and delivery, driving violations, weapons charges, retail theft, fleeing to elude and multiple Class X felony convictions for predatory criminal sexual assault.
Sheriff Diederich said the department remains committed to proactive policing and maintaining public trust.
“We will continue fighting every day to ensure Williamson County remains a safe place to live, work and raise our families,” he said.
