IDOT highlights transportation improvements across Illinois in 2025

SPRINGFIELD, Ill., (KBSI) — Under the leadership of Gov. JB Pritzker, the Illinois Department of Transportation continued to modernize and strengthen the state’s transportation system in 2025, improving mobility, safety and quality of life statewide.

Officials said the work was made possible through the governor’s bipartisan Rebuild Illinois capital program, which supported projects across highways, public transit, railroads, airports, waterways and active transportation networks.

The investments are aimed at creating safer, more reliable travel options while expanding economic opportunities for communities throughout Illinois for generations to come.
