MARION, Ill. (KBSI) — Two people were arrested after a traffic stop in Marion led to the discovery of drugs and paraphernalia inside a vehicle, police said.

Officers with the Marion Police Department conducted a traffic stop about 1:31 p.m. March 4 in the 2700 block of West DeYoung Street after observing a vehicle with a defective windshield that impaired the driver’s view.

Police identified the driver as Forest A. Holloway, 36, of Marion. A passenger, Janet P. Daugherty, 58, was found to have an active warrant from Saline County and was arrested. She was transported to the Williamson County Jail.

With the driver’s consent, officers searched the vehicle and reported finding drug paraphernalia and substances that field-tested positive for methamphetamine and cannabis. During a search following his arrest, additional drug-related items were recovered from Holloway, police said.

Holloway was arrested and cited for possession of methamphetamine under 5 grams, possession of cannabis by a driver and operating a vehicle with a defective windshield. He was taken to the Williamson County Jail.

Police said the vehicle was towed from the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
