RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — A Missouri woman has been arrested and several others cited in connection with a February break-in and vandalism at a religious facility in Randolph County, authorities said.
Sheriff Jarrod Peters said the incident occurred Feb. 14 and 15 at the Adorers of the Blood of Christ facility at 2 Pioneer Lane in Ruma. The crimes were reported to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 16.
Investigators determined the building was entered through a broken lower-level window, which was also used during a second entry the following morning.
Authorities said surveillance footage from the facility and nearby businesses helped identify those involved.
Cheyene Andrews, 18, of Cedar Hill, Missouri, was arrested March 13 by the Jefferson County, Missouri, Sheriff’s Office on Randolph County warrants. She is charged with criminal damage to property between $500 and $10,000 to a place of worship, a Class 3 felony, and criminal trespass to real property, a Class B misdemeanor.
Andrews was later transferred to the Randolph County Jail and released under pretrial conditions.
Authorities also cited two juveniles — one from Dittmer, Missouri, and one from Arnold, Missouri — on similar charges.
The investigation remains ongoing.
