The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jackson Recycling Center, 510 Sawyer Lane.
City officials said the event is aimed at reducing landfill waste, lowering disposal costs and encouraging responsible recycling. A wide range of items will be accepted, including computers, televisions, printers, small and large appliances and other household electronics.
Free on-site document shredding services will also be available from 9 a.m. to noon through a partnership with Shred-It.
All materials will be processed by Midwest Recycling Center, a certified electronics recycler. Officials said computer hard drives will be securely destroyed or wiped.
Fees will apply to certain items, including televisions, monitors, printers and appliances containing refrigerants. Most other accepted materials can be dropped off at no charge.
Items not accepted include household trash, lightbulbs, alkaline batteries, smoke detectors, tires and hazardous materials.
Participants are asked to remain in their vehicles during the event. Payments for applicable fees must be made by cash or check.
