GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) — A Tennessee man has been arrested following an identity theft investigation that began with a reported stabbing in February, according to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were initially called Feb. 26 to a business on U.S. Highway 45 to investigate a reported stabbing. Authorities later determined the victim had provided a false identity during the investigation and signed official documents under another person’s name.

At about 5:30 p.m. April 28, deputies arrested Sancho Hernandez Pastor, 27, of Union City, Tennessee. Investigators said he stole another person’s identity and, during a follow-up interview, again identified himself as Joshua Natale.

Records obtained during the investigation indicate Hernandez Pastor used the false identity to gain employment and possessed fraudulent identification documents.

He was taken to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center and later transferred to an out-of-county detention facility.

Hernandez Pastor is charged with theft of identity without consent, second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, second-degree forgery and giving an officer false identifying information.

The investigation was assisted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to Sheriff Jon Hayden.
