PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — A Paducah man was arrested following a drug trafficking investigation that led to the seizure of methamphetamine, marijuana, cash and other evidence, according to the Paducah Police Department.
Detectives with the department’s Drug Unit began investigating suspected drug trafficking activity in June and identified Byrone K. Burns, 54, as a suspect.
During the investigation, detectives allegedly seized more than 10 grams of methamphetamine that Burns had sold.
Burns was arrested June 16 at his workplace without incident. Investigators later executed search warrants at two properties associated with Burns.
According to police, the searches resulted in the seizure of more than two pounds of marijuana, one hydrocodone pill, drug trafficking paraphernalia and several thousand dollars believed to be proceeded from illegal drug sales.
Burns was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), first-degree possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone) and trafficking in marijuana between 8 ounces and 5 pounds.
He was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
Police said Burns has previous convictions related to drug trafficking and weapons offenses.
