MURRAY, Ky., (KBSI) — A Murray man was arrested early June 20 after allegedly making a false report that prompted an emergency response from deputies, according to the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a residence on Woodlawn Street at approximately 12:15 a.m. after Shayne Davis, 39, repeatedly contacted the Calloway County E-911 Communications Center regarding matters not related to law enforcement.

Authorities said Davis’ final call appeared to involve a legitimate emergency, causing deputies to respond with emergency equipment. Upon arrival, deputies determined the reported incident was false.

The sheriff’s office said the false report required an emergency response and unnecessarily increased risks to both the public and responding deputies.

Davis was arrested and lodged in the Calloway County Detention Center.

He is charged with false report that generates an emergency response, a Class D felony, and harassing communications.

The charges are allegations, and Davis is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
