A walk in the park with Green Bear

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – A Walk in the Park with Green Bear was Saturday. Educators from the green bear project welcomed the community to Cape County Park North for a day of free food, crafts, and fun experiences.

Kendra Eads, executive director of Southeast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence (SEMO- NASV) said the event was this month for April Child Abuse Prevention month.

“They’re going to learn a lot of things and they’re going to get a lot of free stuff and have a really fun time while they’re learning,” said Eads.

Leasa Stone, SEMO-NASV prevention education coordinator, and creator of the Green Bear Project said that she just wanted to make a day for families to enjoy themselves.

“I just wanted a day where the kids can get together with their parents and have a fun day where you know the parents are in a little bit of about abuse,” said Stone

The event was from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
