Cape Girardeau Regional Airport to receive nearly $3 million for new hangars

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) –Cape regional airport recently received funds that will help the airport’s ability to serve the community.
“T hangars were identified as one of the facilities that we needed to add additional capacity so that we can support more aircraft here.” Says Cape Regional Airport manager Katrina Amos.
Currently there is a waitlist of fifteen individuals already waiting for a spot to store their aircraft at cape regional airport.
“We’ve had a budget set of two point nine million dollars to complete the project. Initially, we had hoped we could construct twenty-six t hangars, Amos said, but with the cost of construction increasing over the last few years we will only be able to construct twenty.”
It’s not just the hangars that are needed, but they will also be getting, Taxi way reconstruction, they’re in the middle of a new terminal building construction, and then the new t hangars are that final piece.
