“Well, we want people to first off, realize that you can prevent it to some extent. Make sure that you’re well hydrated and continue to drink plenty of water, before going outside, as well as while you’re outdoors” says Rhine.
Rhine goes on to say if you stay if you’re experiencing light headedness, dizziness, nausea confusion, a throbbing headache you should seek shade and gradually cool your body temperature down with water and a cool rag.
“Check on loved ones, making sure that they are doing okay. Also, if you have someone that relies only on a fan to cool their home, keep in mind that once the temperature inside the home reaches 95 degrees or higher, the fan is no longer of use. All you’re doing is circulating that warm air, so make sure you’re getting those individuals to a cooler environment.”
