Free skin cancer screenings offered in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – In observance of Skin Cancer Awareness Month, Alliance Health & Dermatology is hosting a special event tomorrow, offering free skin cancer screenings to individuals in the SEMO area.

The initiative aims to raise awareness about skin cancer and promote early detection and prevention.

During the event, attendees will not only have the opportunity to undergo complimentary screenings but also indulge in a variety of culinary delights from popular food trucks such as The German Cook, Fit Fuel, and Wave’s Donuts.

Additionally, exciting giveaways will be available to further engage participants.

Jennifer Lcaza-Gast, the owner and founder of Alliance Health and Dermatology, expressed her commitment to spreading awareness about skin cancer, noting that it often goes unnoticed by many individuals.

“Skin cancer is actually the number one cancer in America. Currently, one in every five people will be diagnosed with skin cancer, with a staggering 9,500 individuals receiving this diagnosis daily,” Lcaza-Gast emphasized.

Skin cancer, caused by the cumulative effects of sun exposure and other factors, can be highly preventable and treatable if detected early.

Routine screenings play a crucial role in identifying potential risks and enabling timely intervention.

The free skin cancer screenings event will take place at Alliance Health & Dermatology, located at 304 S Mt. Auburn Rd. Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
