Graves County woman arrested after December 2022 armed robbery of dollar store

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) –  A woman faces a robbery charge after an armed robbery of a Dollar General store on December 31, 2022.

Ruby May Turner, 61, of Mayfield faces a charge of robbery 1st degree (Class B felony) that carries a possible penalty of 10-20 years imprisonment.

Employees of the Dollar General Store reported an older white woman entered the store armed with a pistol demanding money on Dec. 31 at 9:44 p.m. The suspect wore a partial mask during the robbery, according to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect was last seen leaving the store on foot, but it was suspected that she had a vehicle nearby.

Graves County Sheriff’s Det. Sgt. Snapper Seaton and Det. Jamie Clark conducted the follow-up investigation which included a forensic examination of electronic records which identified the suspect.

The results came back on Feb. 16 and the suspect was identified as Ruby May Turner, 61, of Jimtown Road in Graves County.

A search warrant was obtained to search Turner’s home in the 2000 block of Jimtown Road on Thursday afternoon.

Sheriff’s detectives and deputies carried out that search and arrested Turner.

The firearm used in the robbery was found Thursday afternoon at a second location, according to the sheriff’s office.

Turner was taken to an out of county detention facility.
