Man arrested after police chase spanning 2 counties in southern IL

HERRIN, Ill. (KBSI) – A Bush, Illinois man was arrested after a police chase that spanned two counties late Wednesday night.

Eric L. Holland, 34, of Bush faces charges of multiple traffic violations, reckless driving, operating uninsured motor vehicle, resisting/obstructing a peace officer, criminal damage to state supported property and driving while license suspect. Additional charges are pending.

Holland was located by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office on January 4 at 11:37 p.m. in a vehicle in Herrin.

Deputies tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver led deputies on chase, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. During the chase, deputies saw a female in the vehicle trying to escape and being held against her will, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Cambria, Hurst, and Christopher police departments, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police and Williamson County State’s Attorney assisted the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.
