Mt. Vernon woman facing child porn charge

MT. VERNON, Ill. (KBSI) – A Mt. Vernon woman faces a child pornography charge after the sheriff’s office received a cybertip.

Pamela J. Hiatt, 69, faces a charge of child pornography.

Friday, May 19, deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office arrested Hiatt. She was taken to the Jefferson County Jail with bond set on the warrant at $75,000 (10%).

The Sheriff’s Office Detective Division investigation began April 26 after they received a cybertip through their membership in the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Searched warrants were obtained for digital records, which led to a search warrant served at 901 Warren Avenue on May 10.

Evidence was recovered with each search warrant execution, according to the sheriff’s office.

Hiatt posted bond and was released the same day of her arrest.
