Paducah teenager killed in motorcycle crash

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) – A 17-year-old Paducah resident died Wednesday night after a motorcycle crash involving a passenger vehicle, according to the Paducah Police Department.
Officers responded at about 8:39 p.m. July 1 to the 300 block of Jefferson Street for a reported collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.
A preliminary investigation found that a 2019 Toyota Camry, driven by 50-year-old James Gipson of Georgia, was entering the intersection of North Third and Jefferson streets. As Gipson turned onto Jefferson Street, the vehicle collided with a 2018 Suzuki motorcycle operated by Jayden Carrillo, 17, of Paducah.
Carrillo was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The Paducah Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Team and detectives responded to the scene and continue to investigate the crash.
The roadway remained closed for about 2½ hours while investigators processed the scene.
