Pinwheels to mark suicide awareness at locations in 5 southeast MO counties

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Pinwheels in will be set in yards of businesses across southeast Missouri in honor of Suicide Awareness Month which is September.

Thursday, September 28 and Friday, September 29, Community Counseling Center Foundation workers will set up Suicide Awareness Pinwheel Displays in Cape Girardeau, Perry, Ste. Genevieve, Madison and Bollinger counties.

About 200 ribbons were filled out by individuals/families that have been impacted by suicide. Each county will have 200 pinwheels accompanied by a 988 and suicide prevention sign.

The displays will stay up all weekend to conclude Community Counseling Center Foundation activities for Suicide Prevention Month and bring awareness throughout the area.

Below are the locations of the displays.

  • Cape Girardeau – the Community Counseling Center main office at the intersection of Silver Spring and Bloomfield
  • Perryville – intersection of Hwy 51 and Edgemont Blvd. near water tower and Scout display
  • Ste Genevieve – MRV Bank on Ste Genevieve Drive
  • Fredericktown – Front of “The Station” AKA Sawyers Landing
  • Marble Hill – At the 4-way under the Harps Grocery sign
