Sikeston man facing charges after 2 show up to Cape Girardeau hospital with gunshot wounds

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – A Sikeston man faces charges after two people showed up to a Cape Girardeau hospital with gunshot wounds.

Jakevious Moore, 26, of Sikeston is charged with endangering the welfare of a child 1st degree and receiving stolen property.

Cape Girardeau police officers responded to the 1700 block of Lacey Street on Friday, November 3 after receiving a report of a juvenile male and a man with gunshot wounds at about 3:45 p.m.

Officers learned both people were being treated for critical injuries.

Police identified the driver of the vehicle that dropped the victims off as Moore.

Officers found the firearm believed to be used and learned that it belonged to Moore. The weapon was reported stolen from another jurisdiction.

Both victims are still being treated for their injuries.

Moore is being held on a $50,000 cash only bond.

Police do not believe there are any outstanding suspects or threat to the public.

The investigation continues.
