Woman facing drug charge after traffic stop in Colp

COLP. Ill. (KBSI) – A woman faces drug and other charges after a traffic stop in Colp.
Williamson County sheriff’s deputies on patrol in the area of Dr. Springs Road and Madison Street in Colp saw a vehicle driving in the middle of the road at 11:16 p.m. on March 5.
The vehicle crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and parked in front of a home blocking oncoming traffic, according to Williamson County sheriff’s deputies.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop. As they approached the driver, they say the suspect began to drive away.
Deputies returned to their patrol vehicle and continued with lights and sirens activated at a speed of approximate 20 miles per hour trying to pull the driver over.
As the vehicle slowed, deputies brought the vehicle to a stop in the 200 block of North Madison Street.
Deputies ordered the driver out of the vehicle and after several attempts she complied.
Brandi A. Kincaid was identified as the driver.
When asked why she didn’t stop, Kincaid told deputies she wanted to get her mother’s vehicle back home before she went to jail.
Deputies say Kincaid had a suspended driver’s license.
They found a small amount of cannabis, according to sheriff’s deputies.
Kincaid was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
While being processed at the jail Kincaid was searched and scanned by the facility’s body scanner.
Correctional officers found contraband in Kincaid’s underwear.
Kincaid was moved into a secure area and the contraband was removed by a female correctional officer, according to deputies.
The contraband included a glass pipe and a jar containing a clear crystal-like substance which later field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Kincaid was cited for improper parking, improper turn signal, driving while license suspended, operating uninsured vehicle, fleeing or attempting to elude, resisting arrest, possession of adult use cannabis motor vehicle, possession methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and bringing contraband into penal institution.
She was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
