Parma man charged with burglary after investigation uncovers stolen property

PARMA, Mo., (KBSI) — Telvin Hill of Parma has been charged with two counts of burglary after a January 2 incident.

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office and a trooper from the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a reported burglary in Parma. After gathering evidence, deputies established probable cause to arrest Hill.

Hill was found at a nearby home and arrested, then transported to the Mississippi County Jail. He had several items of stolen jewelry in his possession.

A search warrant was executed at another Parma home on Friday, where more stolen property was recovered. The investigation revealed a second victim who was unaware her home had been burglarized.

Hill allegedly entered the second home through an unlocked window while the victim slept in the next room. Authorities believe Hill targeted vacant houses and homes with elderly residents.

Hill has been charged by New Madrid County Prosecutor Andrew Lawson and is being held without bond.

The Sheriff’s Office is seeking to identify additional stolen items and potential victims. Residents of Parma are urged to secure their homes and report any missing items to the Sheriff’s Office at (573) 748-2516.
