Calvert City Police arrest 2 in ATM burglary attempt

CALVERT CITY, Ky., (KBSI) — Two Venezuelan nationals were arrested Thursday after attempting to break into an ATM at a bank in Calvert City, police said.
Johandris Jimenez-Barrio, 26, and Yirvel Yonaiker Rios-Castro, 20, were taken into custody after a brief chase.
According to police, officers responded to an alarm at the CFSB bank around 2 a.m. Thursday. When they arrived, they found the key cover of the ATM entry door open, but no one around.

Rios-Castro was charged with possession of burglary tools, fleeing or evading police and giving an officer false identifying information.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision was treated and released from a hospital.
Police said the two suspects are also believed to be connected to other ATM burglaries in Tennessee.
