Man, 71, dies in crash near Johnson Shut-Ins State Park

IRON COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) – A 71-year-old man from House Springs, Missouri, died in a crash on Route N in Iron County on Monday afternoon, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred just before 4 p.m. on Feb. 10, about 8 miles north of Johnson Shut-Ins State Park. The man’s pickup truck veered off the left side of the road, struck a tree and caught fire.

The victim, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene. His vehicle was totaled.

This marks the seventh deadly crash in the Troop E Region this year
