Southeast Missouri State University offers comprehensive Organismal Ecology Degree Program

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Southeast Missouri State University’s organismal ecology degree program provides students with a wide range of career opportunities in fields such as wildlife conservation, environmental science, healthcare and museum curation.
The program, part of SEMO’s biology department, offers a unique blend of hands-on learning, faculty-led research and field-based experiences. Students can explore courses in ornithology, herpetology, zoology, plant biology and biological collections.
According to Dr. Jason Henry, assistant professor of biology, the university’s location near the Mississippi River, Ozark Forest and wetland ecosystems provides ideal opportunities for field research and internships.
