Carbondale police arrest man after alleged stabbing incident
CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — Police arrested a 39-year-old man after he allegedly stabbed a victim who tried to prevent him from re-entering a residence.
Branden Rogers was taken into custody Sunday and charged with home invasion and aggravated battery, authorities said.
According to police, Rogers had been asked to leave the victim’s residence in the 800 block of West Mill Street, but he returned and tried to force his way back inside.
The victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, struck Rogers until he left, police said.
Rogers was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a hospital before being jailed pending a detention hearing.
Police are encouraging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
