CHEROKEE PASS, Mo., (KBSI) — Firefighters with the Cherokee Pass Fire Protection District conducted ice rescue training over the weekend, taking advantage of cold weather conditions to prepare for high-risk emergencies.

The district partnered with the Fredericktown Fire Department and the Farmington Fire Department to practice low-frequency, high-risk ice rescue scenarios.

Officials said the joint training strengthens technical skills, improves interagency coordination and ensures crews are prepared to respond when needed.

Fire officials thanked all participants for their time and commitment to community safety and reminded residents to stay safe during winter conditions.
