BLOOMINGTON, Ill., (KBSI) — Illinois State Police seized nearly 100 pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Interstate 74 and arrested a Wisconsin man on a trafficking charge.
Troopers said the stop occurred just before 1 p.m. April 6 on eastbound I-74 in McLean County. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of multiple packages of suspected methamphetamine weighing about 99.7 pounds, with an estimated street value of nearly $3.6 million.
The driver and sole occupant, Ivan Kuckuk, 25, of Madison, Wisconsin, was taken into custody without incident.
The McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Kuckuk with methamphetamine trafficking, a Class X felony. He is being held in the McLean County Jail pending his first court appearance.
The charge is an allegation, and Kuckuk is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
