JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — The City of Jackson is seeking public input on a proposed recreational trail project that would add approximately 1.2 miles of ADA-accessible pedestrian pathways along Hubble Creek.
The Hubble Creek Recreational Trail Project Phase 3A is funded in part through the Federal Highway Administration’s Transportation Alternatives Program and is intended to improve connectivity and recreational opportunities within the community.
Under the proposal, the trail would begin at the Jackson High School campus and extend south along Hubble Creek to a point across from the Soccer Park.
City officials said a future phase of the project would include seeking additional funding to construct a pedestrian bridge over Hubble Creek and complete a trail connection to the Soccer Park.
Construction is expected to begin in fall 2027 and be completed by summer 2028.
The project is estimated to cost $1.1 million, with approximately 45% funded through a Transportation Alternatives Program grant.
