Two injured after vehicle overturns, hits utility pole in McCracken County

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — Two people were injured in a single-vehicle crash Sunday night in McCracken County.

Deputies responded around 8:54 p.m. Aug. 23 to the area of 4803 Benton Road, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said Robert Hughes of Paducah was driving a 2004 Acura east on Benton Road when he lost control. The vehicle left the roadway, overturned and struck a utility pole.

Hughes was taken to a local hospital and later transferred to an out-of-state hospital.

A passenger, Roland Bishop, was taken to a local hospital with injuries described as non-incapacitating.

The Reidland-Farley Fire Department, Mercy Regional EMS and Randy’s Towing assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene.
