Inflation in Paducah area restaurants and how it’s impacting them

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – From COVID-19 to supply chain issues to rising prices nationwide, it’s tough being in the business industry these days.

The manager of Max’s Brick Oven Pizza Cafe in Paducah says they’ve been facing staffing shortages, but are doing their best given the state of the economy right now.

“We don’t want that inflation, that price increase that we have to face, reflected on our menu,” said Camron Bastani, manager of Max’s Brick Oven Pizza Cafe. “We try not to have to raise our prices, we’ve only raised our prices once in the last two years, and we’re very proud of that.”

Bastani says that since 1998 they’ve only had to go up in price by $4 at most for some menu items.

With the rising cost of ingredients, many restaurants are being careful with how much they use so they can make their ingredients go farther.
