McCracken County Sheriff’s Office accepting applications for 2026 Citizen’s Academy

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for its 2026 Citizen’s Academy.

The four-week program will be held on Thursday evenings Oct. 15, 22 and 29 and Nov. 5.

Each session will begin with a meal at 5:30 p.m., followed by class from 6 to 9 p.m.

Participants will learn about the responsibilities and different units within the sheriff’s office. The academy will also include demonstrations from the K-9 Unit, SWAT Team and Patrol Division.

Applications can be submitted to the sheriff’s office at the McCracken County Courthouse or by email.

The deadline to apply is Sept. 1.
