Shawnee Mass Transit suspending Metropolis service after employee’s death

METROPOLIS, Ill., (KBSI) — Shawnee Mass Transit will suspend its Fixed Route and Shawnee Express services in Metropolis on Tuesday following the unexpected death of an employee.

The agency said staff members will use the day to honor their colleague and support one another.

Regular service is expected to resume Wednesday.

Shawnee Mass Transit thanked passengers for their patience and understanding.
