Jackson bank president retiring after 40 years in the banking industry

JACKSON, Mo. (KBSI)- First Midwest Bank President, John Thompson is retiring after 40 years in the banking industry.
He started his career with a degree in industrial technology but found himself drawn to the world of finance.
Thompson began working as a bank president for a larger banking company for twenty years before switching to First Midwest Bank, he says, “I always knew after working at a larger bank that I would really like to go to a smaller bank atmosphere.”
Thompson says there’s a benefit that comes with sticking to a career path and following what you love.
“There’s going to be challenges in everything that you do, as long as you enjoy what you’re doing, conceptionally and give it your best, I’m a firm believer that you ought to stick around where they’re treating you right and that loyalty works both ways.” Says, Thompson.
First Midwest Bank, Jackson branch, will be hosting a retirement party for Thompson on December 13th from 2p.m. to 5 p.m. and the public is invited to join.
